I’m new at this, but then writing was new to me six years ago. If I derive as much satisfaction from blogging as I have from story telling, I’ll have given myself another Christmas gift, early!
Some of the things I will be writing about are universal and I’ll just be putting my take on them, family and marriage, children and grandchildren. They’ll be stories about grade school, Andover and Yale. My time in the Navy was a life changing experience and a source of many happy memories. Personal loss and coping with it are part of the mix. Sprinkle in some thoughts and suggestions on the bonuses of playing the proverbial “back nine.” Occasional timely and critical comments on education and world events will round out my offerings.
None of this would be possible without the encouragement, inspiration and guidance from David Friend and his wife Nancy, my departed pal and classmate Nat Reed and above all my daughter Jenny. Wish me luck! I’ve had a lot already.
Best, George
So glad to see you in the blogosphere, George! Welcome! I began blogging almost a year ago. It is a wonderful experience, and I think you will enjoy it tremendously.
I look forward to your posts!
dear george….
YOU SEEM TO HAVE FOUND A WAY TO HAVE FUN WITHOUT PUTTING THE REST OF THE WORLD AT “JEOPARDY” WHILE PURSUING CONTENTMENT….I DIDN’T STUMPLE, GET DRUNK,FALL DOWN STAIRS OR OTHERWISE DAMAGE ANYTHING WHILE READING YOUR STORY….I DIDN’T EVEN FALL ASLEEP!!!
WELL DONE…GOOD LUCK.

I think that’s the key to blogging…
Keep it simple without giving to much private items away.
